If you are a birth mother considering adoption in Florida, we encourage you to learn everything you can about the process. Below you will find some trusted and informative resources that may prove helpful in your research.
What is Adoption Intervention?
If a birth parent has children who are in the custody of the foster care system and have not had their parental rights involuntarily terminated, they can voluntarily sign a consent for adoption and have their child placed in a permanent adoptive home. The birth parent will have the right to choose the adoptive family and may receive updates, pictures, and letters from the family in an open or semi-open adoption plan. A birth parent might not be in a position to parent but they still deserve the right to choose where their child grows up.
